New, there's a Dacia Sandero Access at £5,995, a Dacia Logan MCV at £6,995 (but these are very stripped out and basic with no spare wheel or radio) or a Suzuki Celario at £6,999. Or go to £8,000 and maybe a Vauxhall Viva. Mark Nicol prepared a guide of the 25 cheapest in the UK: www.honestjohn.co.uk/topten/top-25-cheapest-new-ca.../

I am looking to spend £7000 on a small car doing average mileage a year. I'd like a car that's one or two years old. What do you recommend?

Unbelievably cheap for this size of car, generous interior space and a big boot, reasonably comfortable to drive.

Cheap to buy. Low running costs. Good level of standard equipment. Spacious cabin and boot. Comfortable and easy to drive. Brake problem resolved.
