Are there problems with the PowerShift transmission on a 2013 Ford Mondeo?
Is it worth buying a Ford Mondeo Titanium X business model 2013 2.0-litre auto? It has 10 service stamps with 83,000 on the clock. He is asking £7,000 which I think is a fair price. Having said that, is it true that the auto has some teething issues regarding the gearbox due to the PowerShift? I am looking for a good, solid, reliable second hand car under £7,000. Whether it is a SUV, MPV or saloon, it needs to be spacious and be able to put a dog in in the boot. I would prefer an auto but would settle for manual.

The PowerShift in this generation of the Ford Mondeo had a number of problems. Most of them can be avoided with a fluid change every three years or 40,000 miles (whichever comes first). If the owner doesn't have any paperwork to show this has been done I would assume the fluid has never been changed and this would be a big concern.
I would recommend finding a Mondeo with a manual gearbox or choosing an auto with a better reputation for reliability, like the Toyota Avensis.

I drive a 2012 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI with the Powershift gearbox. When I am driving at around 40-50 mph, the engine revs fluctuate up and down probably 1-200 revs, it feels like clutch slip! Any ideas please?
